Ristorante Don Alfonso 1890 reflects a philosophy that is innovative while respecting the local food culture and the old traditions of the Sorrento peninsula and the Amalfi Coast.

Nestled in a 19th century Neapoletan building, the restaurant is filled with bright colors - lilac, yellow, orange and pink - which look lovely with the natural, Mediterranean light, transporting guests to the extraordinary atmosphere of Southern Italy.

Cooking philosophy

Our menu begins with the words of Eduardo De Filippo:

"Only after having studied, breathed and respected tradition do you have the right to set it aside with the knowledge that we are in its debt for having shown us the way. Naturally, if we remain anchored to the past, our life becomes stagnant, but, if we use tradition as a springboard, we will sail that much higher in the air."

Being innovative, staying in step with the times, is essential but we want to maintain our identity, which is tied to our history and our land.

It is based on this unwavering principle that Don Alfonso 1890 has built its business.

Cellar

The Don Alfonso 1890 cellar is an ancient and romantic nook in a Pre-Roman tunnel where more than 25,000 top-quality bottles are kept. There is also an aging room for cheeses.
The 1300 labels in the Don Alfonso 1890 cellar come from all over the world. Some bottles are true finds. The jewels in our treasure chest, in the hands of an expert sommelier, are the perfect "travel companions" for the meals served in our restaurant and hotel garden.
